Add interview feedback
Rate a candidate and leave interview feedback - in the app, or via the feedback link interviewers get with their calendar invite.
What it is
Interview feedback is a rating plus notes left on a candidate. Ratings roll up into the candidate's average rating shown in the Responses table. Feedback can be added two ways: inside the app by an editor, or by an interviewer through the feedback link included in their calendar invite.
The feedback form
Every feedback form has these fixed questions:
- Title - the interview title.
- Overall Rating - a 4-point scale: Strong No, No, Yes, Strong Yes (required).
- Additional Notes - free-form rich text (optional).
If the interview uses a feedback template, its custom questions (rating / short text / rich text, some marked required) appear as well. See Feedback templates.
Add feedback inside the app
- Open the form's Responses page and open the candidate (focus view).
- Go to the Interviews section.
- Click Add Feedback on an interview card, or + Add Feedback to add standalone feedback not tied to a specific interview.
- Set the Overall Rating, fill any template questions and notes, then click Add feedback. (You'll be prompted if a required question or the overall rating is missing.)
Add feedback via the feedback link (interviewers)
If the interview was scheduled with a feedback link, interviewers get a link in their calendar
invite (https://binary.so/interview-feedback/{token}):
- The interviewer opens the link and signs in to Binary (the link is for the interviewer, not the candidate).
- They land on the candidate's page with Overview and Feedback tabs.
- On Feedback, they fill the same form and submit.
Interviewers who aren't form editors see only basic candidate info and the application responses - not comments, AI evaluations, labels, or other interviewers' feedback.
How ratings roll up
- The candidate's average rating (shown in the Responses table) is the average of all Overall Ratings left on them, to one decimal place.
- A candidate is flagged as having feedback once at least one feedback entry exists.
- Multiple people can leave feedback on the same candidate; all entries are kept and averaged.
Notes & limits
- Who can add feedback: form editors (in the app), and anyone with the feedback link who signs in (typically the invited interviewers).
- Who can see feedback: workspace Admins see all; editors see it subject to field protection; external interviewers see only what their link allows.
- To edit submitted feedback, delete the existing entry and add it again.
- Feedback templates with custom questions require the Business plan; the default rating + notes form works without it.
Send a booking link (let the candidate pick a time)
Instead of fixing a time yourself, send the candidate a booking link so they choose a slot from your interviewers' availability.
Feedback templates
Build reusable sets of interview-feedback questions so interviewers answer the same structured questions each time.
