Schedule an interview
Book an interview for a candidate - pick interviewers, date/time, and a Google Meet or location, with a calendar invite sent automatically.
What it is
Scheduling an interview books a calendar event for a candidate with one or more interviewers. Binary creates the Google Calendar invite (with a Google Meet link by default) and can attach a feedback link for the interviewers.
Requires the Business plan. Interview scheduling is a Business-plan feature. On other plans the option is gated.
Before you start:
- Connect your Google Calendar (you'll be prompted if it isn't connected).
- The candidate must have an email - the Schedule button is disabled without one.
Steps
- Open the form's Responses page and open the candidate (this opens the focus view).
- Go to the Interviews tab and click Schedule Interview.
- Keep the mode on Schedule now (the alternative, Create booking link, lets the candidate pick their own slot - see Send a booking link).
- Fill in the interview:
- Title - prefilled for you (defaults to "Interview with" your workspace name, e.g. "Interview with Acme"). Edit it freely each time. An admin can change the default under Settings → Workspace defaults → Interview name, where the title can include your form, stage, candidate, and workspace names.
- Interviewer(s) - search and add internal teammates; Binary can preview their availability.
- Date and time - pick a date, a start and end time (the duration is shown).
- Location / meeting - Online auto-adds a Google Meet link, or choose a location for an in-person interview.
- (Optional) Keep "Add a link that only interviewer can access" ticked to give interviewers a private link; choose what it shows - Candidate details, a Feedback form (pick a template), and/or Past interview feedbacks.
- If your Google Calendar isn't connected you'll see "Connect your Google Calendar to create the interview" - click Connect and finish the Google sign-in.
- Click Create. The calendar invite goes out to the interviewers and candidate.
To change an interview later, reopen it and edit.
What people receive
- Interviewers and the candidate get a Google Calendar invite, with a Google Meet link (or your location).
- Interviewers also get the feedback link in the invite (if enabled), and optional feedback-reminder emails after the interview.
Notes & limits
- Business plan only.
- Requires Google Calendar connected and a candidate email.
- Interviewers should have calendar access; if one doesn't, Binary can send them a connect-calendar nudge (limited to once per day).
- Anyone with access to the form can schedule interviews on it.
How email replies work
Messages reach candidates as email, and their email replies flow back into the conversation automatically.
Send a booking link (let the candidate pick a time)
Instead of fixing a time yourself, send the candidate a booking link so they choose a slot from your interviewers' availability.
