Form settings

What it is

Form settings (the gear icon in the form editor) holds a form's behavioral toggles - separate from its questions. Each change saves on its own ("Setting updated successfully").

Settings

• Currently accepting submissions - whether the form is taking applications. "This will automatically turn on once your form is published." (Same as the publish toggle on the home page - see Form statuses.)
• Limit to one submission - "Only one submission per email is allowed."
• Verify email on submission - "A one-time confirmation code will be sent to their email after clicking submit." Tied to the setting above: when Limit to one submission is on, email verification is forced on and the toggle is locked (you can't turn it off - "Email verification must be enabled when limiting to one submission per email."). When the limit is off, this toggle is free to set.
• Notify when candidates reply - "Receive emails when candidates reply. Not applicable for archived candidates." Turn it on to email the team whenever a candidate replies on this form; replies from archived candidates are skipped (see Notifications).
• Show on public page - "When accepting submissions, show this form on binary.so/{handle}" (the link shows your workspace's public-page URL - see Set up your public page).
• Custom success message - "Show a custom message to candidates after they submit the form." By default candidates see "We have received your submission." Turn the toggle on and click Customize to write your own ("This message is shown to candidates after they submit the form"), then Save changes; turning it off reverts to the default. The message appears on the confirmation screen (it isn't emailed) and supports multi-line text - since Binary doesn't send automated confirmation emails, it's a good place to tell candidates what happens next.

Notes & limits

• These settings are per form and take effect on the live application form.
• Anyone with access to the form can change them.
