Form statuses (Draft, Published, Closed)

Understand and change a form's status - publish a draft, stop or resume accepting applications, and close or reopen a form.

What it is

Every form is in one of three statuses:

  • Draft - created but not live; candidates can't see or apply to it.
  • Published - live and accepting applications; its public link works and it can appear on your public page.
  • Closed - was published, now not accepting applications. The public link still opens but shows "This form is not accepting submissions right now."

Changing status

  • Publish a draft - open the form in the editor and click Publish. It goes live and starts accepting applications. (Name and Email questions must exist first.)
  • Stop / resume accepting - use the toggle on the form's row on the home page (or the accepting submissions toggle in Form settings). Turning it off closes the form ("Not accepting submissions"); turning it on reopens it ("Accepting submissions").

Notes & limits

  • A Draft has no toggle - publish it from the editor first.
  • Closing a form keeps everything (candidates, messages) - it just stops new applications. To remove a form entirely, delete it (see Delete a form).
  • Only live forms appear on your public page (see Set up your public page).
  • Anyone with access to the form can change its status.
