View and download résumés and files
Open, preview, and download the files candidates upload (résumés, portfolios, videos) from their application.
What it is
When a form has a File upload or Video question, candidates' uploads (résumés, CVs, portfolios, intro videos) attach to their application. You can open and download them from the Responses page.
Where files appear
- In the table - the file-upload column shows the file name as a link.
- In the candidate detail view - under the candidate's answers, each uploaded file appears with its name and a download option. See The candidate detail view.
Open or download a file
Click the file in the table or in the candidate's answers. Common types preview in-app:
- PDFs (most résumés) open in a viewer with zoom and a download button.
- Images open inline.
- Video answers play in a built-in player.
- Other file types download directly.
You can also download files via the Download button on the preview.
Notes & limits
- Files come from the candidate's submission; if a résumé was brought in from Google Drive during import, Binary needs Drive access to fetch it (see Connect Google Drive).
- Binary doesn't parse résumé text into fields.
- CSV export includes links to these files rather than the files themselves (see Export candidates to CSV).
- Anyone with access to the form can view and download candidate files, subject to any field protection on that column (see Protect a column).
AI review (screen candidates with AI)
Describe what you're looking for and let AI grade every candidate against your criteria, with a Yes/No/Maybe per criterion right in the candidates table.
Add a candidate manually
Add a candidate to a form yourself (e.g. someone you sourced), with or without an email.
